Cantaloupe Seed Planting Information:
Plant 6 to 8 seeds onto mounds in your garden. Plant the seeds 1" deep when soil has warmed up 70 degrees or greater.
The seeds may rot and not sprout if the soil is too cool.
Germination is improved when soil temperature is above 70 F. Plant the seeds in hills. Plants grow 1 ft tall and vines spread up to 10 ft.
Requires fertile slightly acid soil in a well drained location in the garden. Apply mulch and grass clippings, or straw around base of plant.
Water well during dry and hot spells. Make sure plants get 1" water per week.
Use Agri-Gro, Foliar Feeder III, and Slow Release Fertilizer when transplanting outdoors. Periodically apply Foliar Feeder III, better than Miracle Gro.
Protect ripening melons from damp ground by placing them on boards. Cut melons carefully from plants to prevent damaging the vines.
Plant produces good yields of pale yellow oval shaped melons with steaks of green. The melons have a pale green whitish flesh and is very sweet.
