Jose Tall Wheatgrass Plant 25-40 LBS. PER ACRE, often used for hay and grazing for livestock due to it's ability to produce high yields and palatable forages. Although it prefers a well-drained soil, Tall Wheatgrass is tolerant of alkaline or saline soils where other crops are difficult to establish or are unproductive.
It is often seeded alone, however, it may be planted successfully with legumes. Irrigation is needed for a successful establishment as well as a long growing season. Other uses for Tall Wheatgrass may include seeding for windbreaks, erosion control, or wildlife cover.
